DIY Gold & Marble Bar Cart

March 8, 2017

I am usually very iffy about DIY’s because honestly they never turn out how you want them to in my experience! I am the least crafty person in this world. Seriously, I will find a way to mess up a stick figure if you give me the chance.

The first time I saw a bar cart I knew I had to atleast give it a try because it was so cute. I love love love how this turned out. The universe was on my side for this one! (And the fact that my dad is super handy and can make anything from the ground up. Thanks Dad!!!)

I am a major fan of marble and gold EVERYTHING so I knew that was what I wanted to go for. I saw all of this on twinspiration.co, and copied it to a tee because I wanted mine to turn out like theirs! Check out their blog, I love it!

What you’ll need:

Rust-Oleum White Primer General Purpose Spray Paint

Rust-Oleum Metallic Gold Spray Paint

Grey Marble Contact Paper

Scissors

X-ACTO Knife

Bar Cart

Directions:

1 Put the cart together without the wheels or shelves

2 First, prime the cart then wait 24 hours to begin painting it

3 Next, add the marble paper to the top of the shelves. Flip the paper face down and place the shelf on it. Trace it then cut it out. Now you have to smooth the paper over the shelves and be sure to smooth out the bubbles as you go.

4 Now it’s time to put the cart back together. Be super careful putting the shelves back in though because this paint chips super easily and afterward we had to go back and retouch multiple spots.

5 Finally my favorite part was to decorate! I seriously spent three hours in Home Goods one day. Everything I got was from there. (I could literally live in that store, I’m obsessed!)

What I styled mine with:

  • Pineapple Wall Art
  • Alcohol
  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Flowers
  • Decretive Straws
  • Tassel Garland
  • Limes
  • Chalkboard Sign
  • Glasses
